Mrs. Louise McDonald Prather

Funeral services for Mrs. Louise McDonald Prather, 86, of Gilbert, LA will be held at Turkey Creek Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Don Blackmon and Rev. Dale Goodman officiating. Interment will follow at Turkey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.

Mrs. Prather was born January 25, 1921 in Wisner, LA and passed away Sunday August 5, 2007 at her home in Gilbert. She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse.

She was preceded in Death by: Father-James Cado [sic Cadeau] McDonald; Mother-Etta Alford [sic Halford] McDonald; Granddaughter-Tammy Fortenberry; 2 Great grandchildren-Amber and Erin Jones; 3 Brothers-J.C. McDonald, Charles McDonald, and Lonnie McDonald.

Survivors include: Husband of 67 years-James Bailey Prather of Gilbert; Son-Jimmy Prather and wife Claudine of Gilbert; Daughter-June Fortenberry and husband James of Newellton; 4 Grandchildren-Candy Jones and husband George of Gilbert, Penny Cain and husband Jerry of Sterlington, Kathy Fortenberry of Newellton, and Jamie Fortenberry and wife Susan of Newellton; Sister-Edith Van Pelt of Natchez, Miss. She is also survived by 4 Great-grandchildren, 4 Great-great grandchildren, 1 step great-grandchild, 1 step great-great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Pallbearers will be Jamie Fortenberry, Garrett Jones, Adrian Walker, Clyde Walker, Dale McDonald, Banks Van Pelt, Roger McDonald, and Mike McDonald.

The Honorary Pallbearers will be C.L. McDonald, Logan Cain, and Hunter Jones. The family will receive friends at Turkey Creek Baptist Church from 6:00 PM to Monday, August 6, 2007.
