Louise Patten Wright
Louise Patten Wright went to be with her heavenly Father on Sunday, February 17, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe.
Mrs. Wright lived in Baker for most of her adult life, but returned to her childhood home in Catahoula Parish nine years ago. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Baker for over 50 years and was presently a member of Lake Lilly Baptist Church near Jonesville. Mrs. Wright worked as a houseparent and a supervisor at the LA School for the Blind and retired from there in 1988.
Mrs. Wright was born on February 14, 1925 to the late Ivy Edward and Mattie Harrell Patten.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Heard Wright, brothers, David Patten, Billy Patten, Bobby Patten; great - granddaughter, Maighan Michelle Wise.
She is survived by four children, Louis Wright and wife Karin of Athens, Ohio, Roger Wise of Jonesville, Sussan Beard and husband Jim of Salisbury, North Carolina, Faye Soileau and husband Ken of Orange, Texas. Also, she leaves nine grandchildren, Jeffrey Wise and wife Amy, Becky Crowder, Chris Luquette, Leslie Macy and husband Richard, Dr. Avery Wright, Eric Soileau, Kami Soileau, David Beard, Landon Beard; six great-grandchildren, Ryan Wise, Jeremy Wise, Elizabeth Wise, Kayla Crowder, Jimmy Harvey, and Devin Luquette; one great-great grandchild survives, Hunter Michael Smith.
Visitation will be at Lake Lilly Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 20th at 5 p.m. and the funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 21st at the church.
Young's Funeral Home in Jonesville will be serving the family.
