In Memory of Little Louise Simmons.

On Saturday February 22nd, dear little Louise was taken ill with pneumonia, Dr. Turk, one of Reynolds' best physicians was sent for and all was done that could be, but it seemed that she grew worse each day. On Tuesday Feb. 25 her much grieved father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. O. H. Simmons, accompanied by Dr. Turk, Mrs. J. H. Simmons and Mr. W. R. Whatley, took the little one to Macon hospital where she could have the best attention. Her parents stayed with her 'till the last and all that could be done seemed in vain. On Friday 28th the death angel came and took her to a brighter world above where she is now sweetly resting in the arms of Jesus.

Dear parents try to be reconciled and do not weep for you know that Jesus loved her too and saw it was best to take her from this sinful world to that beautiful City above where she is now watching and waiting for thee.

Louise was seven years old and the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Simmons; she leaves one little brother, father, mother and other loved ones to mourn for her; but 'tis so sweet to know that our loss is Heaven's gain.

The funeral party came from Macon Saturday morning and the herse was ready to carry the remains to its home and in the afternoon to Bethlehem cemetery where a large crowd was waiting to pay the last tribute of love. About four o'clock she was sweetly laid to rest, services being conducted by Rev. Mr. Emerson.

The father and mother of little Louise have the sympathy of all their friends in this sad hour.

Now let us strive to meet her in that beautiful City where she is standing at the Golden Gate with those dear little hands beckoning come. There parting is no more.

Beautiful hands at the gateway tonight,
Faces all shining with radient delight
Eyes looking down from the Heavenly home,
Beautiful hands they are beckoning us to come.

Aunt Henrietta.
