MOUNT AIRY - Mr. Lovit Edward ``Ed'' Fore, 77, of 1223 Fairlane Drive, husband of Verla Stevens Fore, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at Elkin Healthcare Center in Elkin. Mr. Fore was born March 1, 1924, in Lee County, son of the late Lovit Evander and Prilla Gilbert Fore. Mr. Fore was a retired HVAC technician from Pike Electric Inc., a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II, and a member of Cedar Lane Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Verla Stevens Fore of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Jerry Hatcher, and Kathy and Tim Flippen, all of Mount Airy; four sons and three daughters-in-law; Gary Wayne Fore of the home, Donald Lee and Linda Fore, Jerry Edward and Shirley Fore, all of Mount Airy, and Teddy Gray and Debbie Fore of Elkin; nine grandchildren, Michelle Kirkman, Macy Cook, Kevin Fore, Candie Fore, Carrie Fore, Ashley Flippen, Diana Flippen, Billy Fore, and Jamie Fore; two great grandchildren, Betsy Kirkman and Samantha Cook; two sisters, Wilma Cameron of Sanford, and Naomi Hawley of Lillington; a brother, Howard Fore of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and a half brother, Ralph Fore of California.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, at 3 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. R.L. McDaniel and the Rev. Junior Easter, with burial to follow in Oakdale Cemetery. The family received friends on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home of Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted.
