On Thursday, March 30, 1967, at 12:51 o'clock a.m., ALICE LOYE ARNOLD, wife of Shelly C. Whittington, Sr., mother of Mrs. Dorothy Joyce Mumphrey, Joseph W. Whittington of Great Lakes, Ill.; Frederick G., and Haskell Whittington and the late Shelly C. Whittington Jr.; also survived by 4 grandchildren.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral.
Services from the Brown Funeral Home, Inc., Gloster, Miss., on Sunday, April 2, 1967, at 3 o'clock p.m. Followed by religious services at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Interment Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Brown Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Saturday.
The Jefferson Home of Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp, Inc., 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., in charge of arrangements.

Services Scheduled for Five Victims
Funeral services for five of the victims of the crash of a Delta DC-8 jetliner that crashed in Kenner early Thursday morning will be held this weekend.
Services for Mrs. Shelly Whittington and her son, Shelly Jr., 13, who died as [sic at] their home at 623 Worth st., Kenner, was demolished by the skidding plane, will be held Sunday from the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Liberty, Miss. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Whittington was the former Alice Loye Arnold of Amite County, Miss.
She is survived by her husband, who was thrown from the house by the impact of the crash; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Joyce Mumphrey; three sons, Joseph W. Whittington, Great Lakes, Ill., Fred G. Whittington, on duty in Vietnam, and Haskell Whittington.
