Loyd Waters

Services for Loyd Waters, 77, of Whitehouse, were held Nov.18 at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral chapel in Tyler, with Dr. Shawn Corzine and the Rev. Forest Coats officiating.

Burial was in Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mr. Waters died Nov. 14, in Tyler.

He was born Oct. 19, 1928, in Swan to the late Loyd Cleveland and Nancy Elizabeth Wheat Waters and was a lifelong resident of Tyler. He was a self-employed brick mason, a Boy Scout scoutmaster for many years, a 32nd-degree Mason and a member of Green Acres Baptist Church. A brother, Johnny Waters, and sisters, Beatrice Highnote and Falbie Vickers, preceded him in death. A sister, Margaret Glasscock, died shortly after his death.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Evelyn Jones Waters, of Whitehouse; sons, Loyd Ray Waters, Roger Neill Waters and Michael Lynn Waters, all of Whitehouse, and Greg Owens of Brussels, Belgium; daughter, Cynthia Kay Lang of Norfolk, Neb.; brother, Franklin D. Waters of Red Springs; sisters, Lois Williams of New Chapel Hill, Annell Frizzell and Betty Childress, both of Garland; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Thomas Lang, Joshua Lang, Josh Black, Cleve Waters, Ryan Waters and Ronnie Fite.

Nephews served as honorary pallbearers.
