Mrs. T. W. Poole [sic Pool] Expires at Hospital Following Pneu'a

Much Sorrow and Mourning Invades Reynolds and Surrounding Territory in Prominent Woman's Passing

Sadness beyond expression was felt throughout this entire section when news was received that Mrs. Thomas W. Pool had succumbed Tuesday morning, about 10 o'clock, at a Macon, Ga., hospital to which institution she had been removed a week earlier from her home near Reynolds for tr[e]atment following an attack of pneumonia accompanied by complications. Her death was preceded by the death of her infant at the same institution Saturday morning last.

Mrs. Pool, who before her marriage was Miss Lucille Fountain, was one of Taylor county's most highly esteemed young matrons. She was an honor graduate of Wesleyan College and was an active member of the Reynolds Methodist church, a leader in religious, civic and social activities of the community.

Surviving Mrs. Pool are her husband; two sons, Thomas, Jr., and Daniel Pool; and a daughter, Sarah Pool, all of Reynolds; her parents; three sisters, Mrs. R. E. Aultman of Reynolds, Mrs. Clinton Woods of Roberta; Mrs. Grace Doyel, of Butler; five brothers, A. J. and John R. Fountain, of Reynolds; Daniel Reynolds, of Atlanta; Thomas L. Fountain, of Butler; and Dr. James A. Fountain of Macon.

Funeral services, one of the largest ever attended in Taylor county, were conducted from the Reynolds Methodist church Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. Rev. T. H. Tinsley, pastor of the deceased, conducted the sad rites. The floral offering was elaborate and beautiful, beautiful as was the life and character of the deceased. Interment was made in the family lot Hill Crest cemetery, Reynolds. Pallbearers were: Messrs W. A. Childs, Desmond Harp, D. W. Payne, Gray Hicks, T. Whatley and O. E. Ogburn. Flower bearers: Mrs. Desmond Harp, Mrs. N. L. Halley, Miss Ann Hicks and Mrs. F. M. Carson. G. H. Goddard funeral director.
