Lucille Marie Haney Roberson

Lucille Marie Haney Roberson passed away peacefully at the Granbury Villa Nursing Home in Granbury on Dec. 20, 2010 at the age of 86. She was born on Dec. 17, 1924 to Les and Tennie Mae Haney in Gordon, Texas.

Marie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was married to Thomas George Roberson on Dec. 24, 1942 until his death in July 1995. She was an accomplished seamstress and took pride in her work. She enjoyed crocheting and throughout the years crocheted many beautiful items that she gave to family and friends. While she was in the nursing home, she continued to crochet until her eyesight failed.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers, Orval and Lewis Haney, she is survived by her son, George L. Roberson and his wife, Elaine, of Trophy Club, two grandsons, Mark B. Roberson and his wife, Maryellen, of Katy, and Matthew C. Roberson and his wife, Shannon, of Harlingen.

She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Will, Katie, and Briana Roberson of Katy, and Hondo Roberson of Harlingen. She is also survived by her brother, James Haney and his wife, Gail, of Odessa, her sister, Charlene Yocum and her husband, Terry, of Lampasas, sister-in-law, Charlsie Hughes of El Paso, brother-in-law, Doyle Roberson, of Mineral Wells, numerous nieces and nephews and good friend and neighbor, Dee DeBusk.

The family expresses appreciation to the staff at Granbury Villa Nursing Home and Mission Hospice for their excellent care and to Dee DeBusk for her love and friendship.

A memorial service will be held Dec. 29, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Holly Hills Memorial Park Chapel in Granbury.
