LUCIUS D. SIMMONS FUNERAL NOTICE

Funeral services for Lucius D. Simmons, 62, who died early Saturday, September 27, 1969 in a Dublin Hospital were held on Sunday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. Sidney Jones and the Rev. Carl Ayers officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

A lifelong resident of Macon County, Mr. Simmons had served with the Ideal and Montezuma Police Departments and a guard at the Macon County State Prison Branch.

He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, a Mason and was a Veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Stephens Simmons of Montezuma; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar H. Simmons of Perry; one brother, Lawrence Simmons of Oglethorpe; three sisters, Mrs. Thomas Lipford of Franklin, Mrs. Sam Clonts of Rocky Mount, NC and Mrs. Hugh Crawford of Cullman, Ala.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
