Mrs. Williams, 93, Died at Home Friday Night
Funeral Services for One of County's Oldest Citizens at Bethlehem Sunday P.M.
Mrs. Lucy Catherine Williams, ninety-three years of age, died at her home near town Friday about midnight.
Mrs. Williams was a lifelong citizen of Taylor county, daughter of the late John and Sebyann Amerson. She was the oldest member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist church.
Mrs. Williams' husband, Mr. E. G. W. Williams, preceded her in death sixteen years ago. She was the mother of the late Mr. Joel Armer Williams who died while in the armed services of the United States during World War I approximately 39 years ago.
Funeral services for the deceased were conducted at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. Z. L. Perdue, pastor of Mt. Pisgah Baptist church officiated. Burial was in the family lot, Bethlehem cemetery.
Survivors include: two daughters Mrs. G. T. Theus and Mrs. H. C. Walker, both of Butler; six grand children; twenty great grandchildren; twelve great great grand children; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Pall bearers included: Messrs Durward Theus, Howard Taunton, Edward Taunton, R. C. Taunton, Clayton Taunton and Cecil Pennington.
