Mrs. Cooper Dies In Newton

NEWTON -- Mrs. Lucy Ethel Cooper died at Newton Hospital, and services were held at the Hutson Chapel here. From Newton the cortege proceeded to Mobile, Ala., where the body lay in state for two hour, then was carried to Whistler, Ala., for burial.

Mrs. Cooper, a retired clerk for International Paper Company, had been residing in Decatur with her sister, Mrs. Mary Thrash. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.

Mrs. Cooper was born in Conehatta January 15, 1895, her parents being Jim W. and Amanda Emmons Holliday.

Survivors are two brothers, Felix W. Holliday of Gautier, Owen C. Holliday of Alexandria, La.; two sisters, Mrs. Thrash of Decatur and Mrs. Minnie Slaughter of Philadelphia; nieces, nephews, and other county relatives.
