Luerline S. Smith

Funeral services for Luerline S. Smith will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2007 in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Stephen Laughlin officiating. Committal services will follow in the Reed Cemetery in Oberlin under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Mrs. Luerline, 74, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Thursday, July 12, 2007 in Pineville. She was born on August 5, 1932 to the union of Elmer ``Lanky'' Seals and Leota Duplissey Seals in Oakdale. She was a Baptist by faith, retired from the Allen Parish School Board after thirty years of teaching with a certification in Special Education. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Her parents, Elmer ``Lanky'' and Leota Seals and one daughter, Terry Scott Perkins precedes her in death.

She leaves behind her loving family to cherish her memories, her husband, Leon W. Smith of Oakdale, two daughters, Dona Scott Johnson of Oakdale and Barbara Scott Passmore of Boyce; six grandchildren, Christopher Scott, Stephanie Richey Hamilton, Sarah Richey Matthews, Lane Johnson, Luke Johnson, Mika Disatel; seven great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Friends may call today from 8:30 am until time of service at 10 a.m. in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel.
