DAWSON, HARPER
Died Thursday at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Meadville, Miss. He was 83, a native of Amite County, Miss., a resident of Gloster, Miss., and a retired farmer. Body at the home of his son, Mann Dawson, in Gloster until 1 p.m. Saturday. Religious services at New Hope Methodist Church near Gloster at 2 p.m. Saturday conducted by the Rev. Jerald Williams. Burial in the church cemetery.
Survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruby Dawson; five daughters, Mrs. Carl Boykin, and Mrs. Edwin Boykin, both of Ferriday, Mrs. Robert H. Whittington and Mrs. H. A. Havard, both of Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Arthur Brantley, Gloster; five sons, Mann, Roger, Eugene and Wilmer Dawson, all of Gloster, and Billy Dawson, Houston, Tex.; three brothers, Howard and Abe Foreman, both of Gloster, and Willard Foreman, Liberty; four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Rollins, Arkansas, Mrs. Lola Day and Mrs. Fannie Betz, both of Gloster, and Mrs. Bertha Hunter, Ohio; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
