Mrs. Lula Thurman Dies At Cisco; Services Today

CISCO (RNS) -- Funeral for Mrs. Lula Thurman, 89, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Rust Funeral Chapel here, with the Rev. G. W. French, pastor of Cisco First Methodist Church, and the Rev. Bascom Morton of Coleman officiating.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Thurman died at 8:15 a.m. Saturday at her home here.

Born March 23, 1873 in Robinson [sic Robertson] County, she married J. J. Thurman Jan. 21, 1891, in Carbon. He died in 1901. She moved here 38 years ago.

She was a longtime member of the Methodist Church and was a member of the local chapter of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. J. T. Elliott of Cisco and Mrs. F. H. Patterson of Snyder, one brother, Henry McDaniel of Claremore, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Hunton of Snyder and Mrs. Martha Jane Walker of Muskogee, Okla.; and one grand-daughter.
