Lula Mae Park Crabtree
(March 3, 1905 - June 5, 2009)
Lula Mae ``Memaw'' Park Crabtree, 104, widow of Thomas Ralph Crabtree and formerly of Columbia, died Friday, June 5, 2009 at her residence in the Mt. Joy Community.
A graveside memorial service for Mrs. Crabtree will be conducted Sunday, June 7, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Mount Cemetery with Jim Cox officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A native of Maury County, she was the daughter of the late George William Park, Jr. and Lula Maude Pinkston Park. She was a former seamstress for Gordon's & Davis Dress Shops. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and loved caring for her pets. Mrs. Crabtree was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Columbia.
She is survived by a granddaughter, Michele (James) Lanius of the Mt. Joy Community; two great-grandsons,William Thomas ``Will'' Lanius and Wyatt Park Lanius both of the Mt. Joy Community; a sister, Polly Lovell of Columbia; a daughter-in-law, Betty Crabtree of Columbia; nieces, Suzanne Hall, Phyllis Maley, Barbara Schwar, and Polly Wicarius; nephews, George Lovell and Edward Park; several great nieces and nephews; devoted niece and spouse, Emma (Jim) Cox; special friends, James (Ella) Lanius, Diane Long, and Tommy Michael Stanfill.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pat Crabtree Hill; a son, Bill Crabtree; three sisters, Gertrude Dillehay, Maude Duvall, and Lorena Harris; three brothers, Edward Park, Gene Park, and Logan Park.
