Mrs. Lula Hardy Dies In Canton

Mrs. Lula W. Hardy, 74, died Sunday morning at the Kings Daughters Hospital in Canton after an illness of several days. She was the widow of J. C. Hardy, a native of Lena, and a resident of Canton for the past eight years. She was a member of the Center Terrace Baptist Church in Canton.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. O. E. Raybob [sic Raybon] of Canton, Mrs. A. B. Clingan of Ridgeland, Mrs. H. L. Mason of Jackson, and Mrs. Harry Oswalt of Canton; five sons, A. W. Hardy, Joe B. Hardy, James [sic John] Thomas Hardy, all of Canton, C. L. Hardy of Flora, and Henry W. Hardy of Jackson; one brother, J. F. Weaver of Jackson; one sister, Mrs. Joe McCollum of Meridian; nineteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held from the Center Terrace Baptist Church in Canton Monday at 2 p.m. with her pastor, Rev. Judd Allen officiating. The body will lie in state at Baldwin Bros. Funeral Home in Canton until 1 p.m. Monday after which it will lie in state at the church until the funeral hour.

The pallbearers will be grandsons A. B. Clingan, Jr., Robert C. Clingan, J. B. Hardy, Jr., C. L. Hardy, Jr., A. W. Hardy, Jr., and H. L. Mason, Jr. Interment will be in the Canton Cemetery with Baldwin Funeral Home in charge.
