Lummie Powers
Services for Lummie Powers, 90, of Henderson, Texas, and formerly of Bryan are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Steep Hollow Baptist Church in Bryan.
The Revs. Lawrence Smith and Dale Suel will officiate. Burial will be in Steep Hollow Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.
Mr. Powers died Wednesday in Henderson Memorial Hospital in Henderson.
He was a lifelong resident of Bryan before moving to Henderson three months ago. He was retired from the agricultural extension service and was a member of Steep Hollow Baptist Church. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Powers of Henderson; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Edna and Robert Kilmer of Livingston, Texas, Betty Gibson of Fort Worth and Jane and Wayne Lacey of Arp, Texas; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ina and Tom Browning and Maudell and Milton Greer, all of Bryan and Artie Barnett of Waco; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
