MRS. JOHN McCARTY DIES ON SUNDAY, DEC. 10

Mrs. John McCarty died Sunday, Dec. 10, 1972, in Hill Top Manor Rest Home, Union, after a long period of declining health. Mrs. Luna J. McCarty was 79 and lived on Rt. 2, Decatur.

Her funeral was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, in the Oakland Baptist Church, with interment following in Oakland Cemetery. The Revs. Russell Alexander and Sam Foy were officiants.

The body reposed at the Stephens Chapel in Decatur after 4 p.m. Monday until the service time. Pallbearers included Clifton Rigdon, Tom and James Johnston, Johnny Munn, Clark Johnson and Willie Graham.

Survivors are her husband, John McCarty, Rt. 2 Decatur; two brothers, T. B. Johnston and Tinsley Johnston, both of Decatur; three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Laird of Little Rock, Mrs. Bessie Glenn and Mrs. Nona McNeil, both of Decatur; and several nephews and nieces.
