DAWSON, LUTHER CLEVELAND

Died 11:55 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. He was 77, a native of Amite County, Miss., and resident of Baton Rouge. He was a retired farmer.

Body at Brown Funeral Home, Gloster, Miss. Religious services Saturday at 10 a.m. at the New Hope Church, Amite County, conducted by the Rev. John Kendrick, Baton Rouge, Brother Floyd Lewis and Brother Bobby Bateman. Burial in New Hope Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Allie Dawson; six sons, Thomas J. Dawson, Liberty; Roddis H. Dawson, Biloxi; the Rev. Luther Carlos Dawson, British Honduras; Lamottis W. Dawson, Baton Rouge; Lloyd E. Dawson, Memphis, Tenn., and Nelson L. Dawson, Baton Rouge; four daughters: Mrs. Maxine Von Drasek, Memphis; Mrs. Annie Bell Crum, Baton Rouge; Mrs. Florence Byrd, Petal, Miss., and Mrs. Tressie McKey, Centreville, Miss.; four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Rollins, England, Ark.; Mrs. Fannie Day and Mrs. Lola Day, both of Gloster, and Mrs. Birdie Hunter, Ohio; five brothers, Harper Dawson, Abe Foreman, Vernon Foreman, Willard Foreman and Howard Foreman, all of Gloster; 29 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
