L. P. B. LEE DIES EARLY TUESDAY

Funeral For Four Oaks R. 4 Man Is Conducted Here Wednesday

WAS 78 YEARS OF AGE

Luther P. B. Lee died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Johnson on route 4, Four Oaks, early Tuesday morning at two o'clock following a brief illness of pneumonia. He was 78 years, 11 months, and 13 days old.

Mr. Lee had been in poor health for six to seven years and for some time he had lived with his children, going from one home to another. His wife died several years ago.

The funeral was held at the Primitive Baptist church here on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by his pastor, Elder Shepherd Stephenson, assisted by Elder J. T. Lewis of Angier. Interment took place in the Riverside cemetery by the side of his wife.

The pallbearers were grandsons, as follows: Seth Jones, Alonza Barbour, Folder Lee, Elbert and Joseph Johnson, and Bruce Lassiter. The honorary pallbearers included: William and Alton Johnson, Moses Jones, Willard and Waller Langdon, Connie Stuckey, and Willie Overman, all except the latter two being grandsons of the deceased. The flowers were carried by granddaughters, Julia Barbour, Ruth Lee, Virginia Jones, Louise Langdon, Camie Lassiter and Edna Maddry.

Surviving are ten children, as follows: Mrs. Della Holland, Mrs. Pennie Johnson, Mrs. Ellen Lassiter, Mrs. Louie Johnson, Mrs. Lena Barbour, and Joel B. Lee, of Four Oaks, route 4, Mrs. Jim P. Jones, of near Smithfield, and Mrs. Ernie Tart of near Benson.
