Luther Thomas Fountain Sr.

Luther Thomas Fountain Sr., 90, of Monticello died Sunday.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Beggs-Wilkins Funeral Home in Monticello (997-5612). Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1304 E. Sixth Ave., Tallahassee 32303; or to the American Diabetes Foundation, Florida Affiliate Inc., 1101 N. Lake Destiny Road, Suite 415, Maitland, FL 32751.

A native of Butler, Ga., and former resident of Taylor County, he had lived in Monticello since 1926. He was a farmer and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Monticello.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mamie Sue Fountain of Monticello; a son, Luther Fountain Jr. of Monticello; four daughters, Annie Charron and Judy Miller, both of Monticello, Yvonne Bailey of Jacksonville and Claudia Bailey of Aiken, S.C.; a brother, Hoke Fountain of Mendota, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
