L. W. Rogers

Luther William Rogers, 70, Rt. 3, West Monroe, died in an Alexandria hospital this morning after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services are incomplete but will be under the direction of Mulhearn's Funeral Home of Monroe.

He was a native of Caldwell Parish, a resident of West Monroe since 1928, a retired driller for Stovall Drilling Co., a veteran of World War I, a member of Rodney J. Hobbs Post No. 1809, VFW, a member of Cadeville Masonic Lodge No. 229, F. & A. M. and a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ida Rogers, West Monroe; three daughters, Mrs. A. J. Charrier, Mrs. V. B. Rutledge, Mrs. Charles Jarvis, all of West Monroe; two sons, Luther W. Rogers, Jr., Elliott Rogers, both of West Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Tom Hood, Jr., West Monroe, Mrs. Elliott House, Los Angeles, Calif.; two brothers, Delbert Rogers, Shreveport, Virgil Rogers, Long Beach, Calif., and 12 grandchildren.
