Lydia T. Bryan

SHREVEPORT, LA -- Funeral services for Lydia T. Bryan, 94, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2006 at First Baptist Church, Blanchard, LA. Officiating will be Dr. James Hill, Pastor of First Baptist Church, Blanchard. interment will follow in Mount Lebanon Cemetery in Gibsland, LA.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2006 at Forest Park Funeral Home, 1201 Louisiana Avenue, Shreveport, LA. Mrs. Bryan, a 60 year resident of Blanchard, LA, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2006, in Shreveport, LA. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Blanchard and was an elementary school teacher for more than 40 years. Mrs. Bryan was still very active at the age of 94, teaching hornebound Sunday school classes and taking art lessons from Don Edwards.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas George Bryan.

Mrs. Bryan is survived by one son, David D. Bryan, MD. and wife Lara Raley Bryan of Shreveport, LA; one daughter, Diane Bryan Reeder and husband David of Blanchard, LA; five grandchildren, Jammy Sheppard and husband Alan, Richard Bryan Reeder, Christopher Bryan, Craig Bryan and fiancé Lori Weddell and Courtney Bryan; five great-grandchildren, Richard, Dalton, Tyler, Claire and Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Marvin Greer, Robin Bryan, Rex Bryan, Melvin Moses, Torn Bueche, Pat Richardson, Terrell Whetstone and J. Paul Swearingen, Jr., M.D.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Maness, and Kevin Sandfur.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. William Haynie, Dr. Sanders Hearne. Dr. Steen Trawick, Dr. Pat McGauley; to Mrs. Bryans caregivers, Pat Miller and Stella Lively; and the staff of Grace Home for their excellent care and compassion.
