M'Kaskles Have Nine Sons in Service

Ranking first on Franklin parish's list of parents with children in the armed forces is Mr. and Mrs. W. H. McKaskle of Winnsboro, route two. The McKaskles have nine sons serving in various branches of the army, the navy, and the marines.

(1) Corporal Roy N. Stapp entered the army air forces in March 1943. He is presently stationed at Colorado Spring, Colo.

(2) Petty Officer Paul Stapp enlisted in the navy Seabees in August of 1943, and is now helping fight and build airports and fortifications for Uncle Sam's forces in the south Pacific.

(3) Petty Officer Johnnie Stapp enlisted in the navy in September of 1943 and is stationed in Philadelphia, Pa.

(4) Sergeant W. Martin James (son-in-law) was inducted into the army in May, 1942, and is now on the Italian battlefront.

(9) Mr. and Mrs. McKaskle of Winnsboro, route two, parents of the nine boys.

(5) Pfc. Eddie Darby, son-in-law, has been in the army since April of 1943, and is stationed at Fort Ord, Calif.

(6) Pfc. George McKaskle has been in army uniform since April, 1943, and is stationed at Camp Stewart, Ga.

(7) Sergeant Olan McKaskle and Sergeant Nolan McKaskle, twin brothers, joined the marines in December, 1943, and October, 1940, respectively, and have served in many major Pacific battles. Olan is now in a south Pacific naval hospital. Nolan is at Cape Gloucester.

(8) Pfc. James Frank McKaskle entered the army air forces in February, 1942, and is now in England.

Five of the nine sons are serving on battlefronts overseas.
