Mabel Keller Rolen

BIG CANE - Services for Mabel Keller Rolen will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Big Cane Baptist Church with Dr. Jimmy Brossette officiating. Burial will be in Big Cane Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers, Bunkie.

Rolen, 97, of Silsbee, Texas, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, in Pine Harbor Nursing Center, Silsbee, Texas.

She was formerly of Big Cane. She was an active member of Big Cane Baptist Church, WUM past president, Sunday school teacher and training union.

Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Bryan Smedley of Kountze, Texas, and Willa Jane Cornell of Kerrville, Texas one stepdaughter, Maxa Faye Guthrie of New Orleans two stepsons, J.B. Rolen of Morrow and Alban Rolen of Baton Rouge six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 1-10 p.m. today in the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until time of services Saturday in the church.

Note: Margaret Bryan Smedley was Mabel's niece, not her daughter. It's likely that Willa Jane Cornell was also her niece.
