Mable Marie Ellis

OIL CITY, LA -- Funeral services for Mrs. Mable Marie Ellis, 87 of Oil City, will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2007 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Billy Pierce of Cypress Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ellis was born on September 19, 1919 in Calvin, LA and passed away in Shreveport on July 12, 2007. She has been a longtime resident of Oil City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jospeh William Ellis, Jr.; daughter, Carolyn Victoria Pruett; son, Joseph William Ellis, II; granddaughter, Shonda Pettit; three brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include her daughter, Patsy Ellis and husband Kenneth Hopkins; sister, Bobbie Machen; brother, Herschel Machen; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Robert Bradshaw, Raymond Pettit, Kenneth Hopkins, Robbie Jetton, Casey Jetton and Gary Dick.
