Mable Bass Clanton
Mable Bass Clanton, 71, of the Oxford community in Amite County, died Nov. 9, 2011, at Liberty Community Living Center.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and 10 a.m. Saturday at the church until services at 11. The Rev. Joe Jackson and the Rev. Zach Smith will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Brown Funeral Home in Gloster is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Clanton was born April 15, 1940, in Franklin County, to J.L. and Lona Oglesby Whitehead.
She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Tommy Ray Bass; her second husband, Lamar Clanton; three sisters, Evelyn Larimore, Catherine Bowman and Nellie Miller; and a brother-in-law, Jimmie and Janelle Bass.
Survivors include a son, Robbie Bass and Lori of Gloster; a grandson, Coty Bass and Stacy of Gloster; three brother-in-laws, Pete Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Bass and Mr.and Mrs. Hansel Bass; a sister-in-law, Margaret Bass; and numerous nieces and nephews.
