Transylvania Woman Dies; Rites Complete
LAKE PROVIDENCE (Special) -- Mrs. Maggie Varnell Girod, 63, of Transylvania, died Monday at East Carroll Parish hospital following a brief illness.
A service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Transylvania Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Keys officiating.
Following the service, the body will be carried by Gay's Funeral Home to Columbia for a short service at 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Columbia.
Survivors include the husband, C. C. Girod; four daughters: Mrs. Arthur Moe, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Mrs. R. L. Griffin, Transylvania; Mrs. Roland Davis of Harrisburg, Ill.; Mrs. Johnnie Bell Myers, Houston, Texas; four sons: W. Russell Girod, Mobile, Ala.; Bobby Girod, Transylvania; Preston Girod, with the U.S. Air Force at Travis AFB, Calif.; and Carl Herschel Girod, Angola.
