Mrs. Maidie Koonce

Funeral for Mrs. Maidie Koonce, 72, of Route 4, Box 1560, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Cason Monk Chapel with interment in Swift Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Shine, pastor of Hopewell Baptist Church at Swift. Mrs. Koonce died Sunday, May 1, in Medical Center Hospital.

Born April 17, 1911, in Fellowship Community in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Halford and Lillie Emmons Seago. She had lived most of her life in Nacogdoches County and was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church.

Mrs. Koonce and Buren Koonce were married July 25, 1928, and he survives her. Also surviving are a son, Tommy Lloyd Koonce (removed); four daughters, Clara Lackey and Margie Stark of (removed) and Millie Elliott and Pauline Perkins of (removed); two brothers, Melvin Seago of Nacogdoches and Elwin Seago of Corrigan; a sister, Gertrude Ryan of Lufkin; 11 grandchilden, and two great grandchildren. Cason Monk Funeral Home will direct arrangments.
