Dr. Ma[l]colm C. Gaar

Dr. Malcolm C. Gaar, 82, 419 N. Gadsden St., No. 115, died Sunday at Tallahassee Memorial Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services are scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Culley & Sons Funeral Home. The family suggests that those wishing to do so make a memorial contribution to a favorite charity instead of sending flowers.

A native of Dodson, La., he had lived in Tallahassee for two years. He received both bachelor's and master's degrees from Louisiana State University, and a Ph.D. from Cornell University. A professor of vocati[o]nal agriculture at LSU and the University of West Virginia, he also spent two years with a government-aid program in Indochina. A winner of many awards in state and national vocatioanl [sic vocational] agriculture work, he also worked for the AARP in Alabama for several years. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, a Mason, and a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies.

Survivors include his wife, Mary B. Gaar of Tallahassee; one daughter, Alice Carol Gaar of Tallahassee; one brother, W.E. Gaar of Lake Charles, La.; and one sister, Mrs. Roy Dahl of Monroe, LA.
