Malcom Jones

Malcom William Jones, 52, of 5530 Kent St., died Friday at Toledo Bend.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. in the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Southside Chapel with the Rev. Louis Strain, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Montgomery.

A native of Verda, he had been a resident of Shreveport for 36 years. Mr. Jones was a retired carpenter and a member of the Woodlawn Baptist Church, Sunset Masonic Lodge No. 438, the Carpenters' Local and the American Legion. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife Lucille Jones; three sons, William G. Jo[n]es, Larry D. Jones and Charles E. Jones, all of Shreveport; two sisters, Dorothy Coleman of Colfax and Clara Lolley of Shreveport; one brother, Leland J. Jones of Lake Charles; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Asa Curtis, Jim Lewis, E. Forest King Jr., Gene Houston, Skyler Wright and Kenneth Palmer.
