Malvin Hall, 90
Malvin O. Hall went home to his Lord on February 8, 2004 at his home in Friendship, LA.
He was born April 10, 1913 to Wiley and Effie Hall who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by Artie Sanderlin Hall, his sister Cloteal Bell and her husband Reagan, brothers Wilbur Hall and wife Nina, Lloyd Hall, baby Edward.
Malvin is survived by his wife Polly Hall, stepsons Dr. Kenneth Sanderlin and wife Fran, Troy Sanderlin and wife Leta, Charles Sneed and wife Diana, stepdaughters Mickie Hewitt and husband Joe, Carla Sneed, Johnnie Sue Oran and husband Ron, and Cindy Bussey and husband Michael. He is also survived by his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and by his sister-in-law Clovis L. Hall widow of Lloyd.
Malvin was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, serving as an active deacon for more than forty years, with the last five years being an inactive deacon. He has been Superintendent and a teacher of the Sunday School. He was proud of his military service, being a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor. He served in Harbor Defense. He was a very successful farmer and forester. He worked in the oil industry in the Gulf of Mexico and off Australia. As a farmer he enjoyed sharing his produce with his neighbors in the community. Malvin was particularly proud of the delicious peaches he grew. He was faithful in being a good steward of all that the Lord blessed him with and will be remembered by many in the community that were recipients of his generosity.
Services will be held at Friendship Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at 2:00 pm with burial at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Robert K. Leach will conduct the services with music by the church choir.
Pallbearers will be Tim Andrews, Colin Brown, Billy Ray Culpepper Jr., Wayne Durbin, Jodie Hall and Bo Shows.
Honorary Pallbearers will be W. E. Barron Jr., Pete Usrey, and Ray Hall.
