Mrs. Mamie Lee Succumbs At Home

Mrs. Mamie Lee of Route 2, Benson, died Tuesday afternoon at her home following a brief illness. She was 72 years of age.

She was a native of Johnston County. She was a daughter of the late Monroe and Marie Lee of Meadow township. She was the widow of Pete Lee.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. G. F. Wood of Wilmington; three sons, J. P. and Leo Lee, both of Route 2, Benson, and Marshall Lee of Richmond, Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Hettie L. Smith, Mrs. J. Mansey Johnson and Mrs. Lessie Johnson, all of Route 2, Benson; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at Hickory Grove Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Lester Lee of Dunn and the Rev. Niles E. Compton of Route 2, Benson, officiated. Burial followed in the Monroe Lee Family Cemetery.
