LAST RITES FOR MANN DAWSON
Mann Dawson, a retired logging contractor, died Friday night, February 25, 1983 at Field Memorial Hospital in Centreville after a brief illness. He was 67 and a resident of Gloster.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 27 in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Gloster with the Rev. Gerald Williams officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Dawson was a native of Amite Coounty and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mavis McPhail Dawson of Gloster; seven sons: Maurice of Brookhaven, Raymond of Wyoming, Larry, Stanley, Bobby and Gaylon, all of Natchez, and Joey of Gloster; a stepson, Robert White of Gloster; five daughters: Mrs. Alpha Sharpe and Miss Patricia Dawson, both of Natchez, Mrs. Agnes Wilson of Willis, Texas, Mrs. Edith Mason of Brookhaven and Mrs. Patsy Dawson of Gloster.
Four brothers: Roger, Eugene and Wilmer of Gloster and Billy of Jackson; five sisters: Mrs. Lazella Boykin, Mrs. Lexie Whittington and Mrs. Evelyn Havard, all of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Vasser Boykin, Zachary, La. and Katherine Thornton of Baker, La.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
