Marcella Ruth “Polly” Bell Gray, 89, died Sunday, July 11, 2004, at home. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Graveside services are 4 p.m. Tuesday in Hillsboro Baptist Cemetery.

Mrs. Gray was born in Scott Co. and had lived in Pearl for the past two years. She was a member of Oak Cobly Baptist Church in Philadelphia. Mrs. Gray loved to work in her garden and loved being outdoors.

She is survived by three daughters, Edna McLain and husband J.M. of Philadelphia, Mary Cockrell and husband Wendell of Pearl, Sheila Smith and husband R.D. of Pearl; four sons, Ed Dudley Bell Jr. and wife Francis P. of Picayune, J.D. Bell of Richland, James Bell and wife Joe of Florida, Buford Bell and wife Helen R. of Florence; 22 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ed Bell in 1969, her husband Otis Gray in 1997 and her son Bobby Ray Bell in 2001.
