Marcia McDonald Doss
(February 5, 1939 - November 14, 2011)

Marcia McDonald Doss died at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice in Baton Rouge on Monday, Nov. 14, 2011. She was a native of Baskin and a resident of Slaughter.

Visitation at Charlet Funeral Home Inc. in Zachary on Wednesday, Nov. 16, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitation resumes at the Ethel Baptist Church on Thursday, Nov. 17, from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Ed Jelks and the Rev. Alvin Hall. Burial in Port Hudson National Cemetery.

She is survived by four daughters, Cindy Umphres and her husband, Rocky Umphres, of Texas, Pam Berry and her husband, Gary Berry, of Hooks, Texas, Bobbye McMillian, of Baker and Lori Wilson and her husband, Danny Wilson, of Zachary; a brother, Asa Joe McDonald Jr. and his wife, Betty McDonald, of Delhi; nine grandchildren, Joni Umphres, Dustin Umphres, Diana Umphres, Randal McMillian, Marcia Johnston, Kacey McMillian, Jeff McMillian, Kami McMillian and Greg Wilson; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Bob Doss; her mother, Hazel McDonald; her grandson, Kevin Dewayne Wilson; and her sisters, Carolyn, Vada and Doris.

Pallbearers will be Danny Wilson, Greg Wilson, Gary Berry, Jeff McMillian, Darryl Kleinpeter and Brian Smith. She enjoyed yard work and spending time in her garden
