Margaret Rush Brown

Services for Margaret Rush Brown, 94, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Bud Bonner officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Brown was born December 20, 1920, in Angelina County, Texas, the daughter of the late Zusle and Tellie Mae (Arrington) Rush. She died Thursday, January 6, 2005, in a local nursing facility.

Mrs. Brown was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was also retired from Texas Southeastern Railroad. She was a member of Burke Methodist Church, where she was also the secretary and a Sunday School Teacher.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kathey and Gerald Neal of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Carl E., Jr. and Jane Brown of Houston; sisters, Katherine Lee of Burke and Betty Jo Smith of Burke; brother, Alan L. Rush of Burke; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Brown, Sr.; mother, Tellie Mae Arrington; and father, Zusle Rush.

Pallbearers will be Harlan Neal, Joe Thigpen, Glendyl ``Rabbit'' Griffin, Roy Lynn Smith and Chad Lee.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home in Lufkin.
