Margaret S. Smith

Margaret S. Smith, 78, died Wednesday, December 24, 2003, in Gulfport.

Margaret was a native of Saucier and a credit manager at Lerner's Gulfport and Biloxi for several years. She also drove a school bus for the Harrison County School System. She was a former member of the Gulfport/Long Beach Church of the Nazarene and Grace Chapel Church in Gulfport.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Forest Z. Smith; her father, Tolar Scarborough; her mother, Captolia Breland; her stepfather, Seab Breland; a daughter Eva Marie Thorn; a son, Michael C. Smith; and a brother, James Scarborough.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara J. Miller and her husband William of Ocean Springs; a son, Timothy P. Smith of Gulfport; two sisters, Anna Ruth Rouse of Baton Rouge, LA and Mary Elizabeth Broadus of Saucier; two brothers, Chester Scarborough of Wiggins and Wesley Scarborough of Lake Charles, LA; Three grandchildren, Pamela D. Wilkinson and her husband Harold (Bob) of Saucier, Ashleigh E. Miller of Ocean Springs, and Timothy J. Smith of Gulfport; and one great grandson, Caleb J. Miller of Ocean Springs.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 26, 2003 from noon until 2 p.m. at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, Highway 49 North, Gulfport. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., in the funeral home chapel with burial following in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum in Gulfport.
