Marjorie Crain Lawrence
Marjorie C. (Margie) Lawrence, 92, of El Dorado passed away January 8, 2018 at Oak Ridge Nursing and Rehab. Born on May 10, 1925 in Sikes, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Robert Jack Crain and Nancy Jane Crain.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Jackson Lee Lawrence, her parents, and nine brothers and sisters.
Survivors include, two sons, Terry Don Lawrence and wife Brenda, Barry Lawrence, two daughters, Glenda Richard and husband Billy of El Dorado, and Marilyn Brown of Arlington, Texas; five grandchildren Christina Hostetter and husband Dan, Shannon Wood and husband Tony, Candia McElvain and husband Shanon, Lindsey Lawrence of El Dorado, and Alex Brown of Arlington, Texas; nine great-grandchildren, Kristen Hildebrand husband Walker , Daniel Hostetter, Jackson Hostetter, Ashton Drummond wife Lexi, Andrew Drummond, Austin Drummond, Bailey McElvain, Caden Brown, and Mason Brown, four great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She retired from the retailing industry after working for numerous stores in her long career. She was an avid gardener. She loved to play the piano, playing with grandchildren and was an excellent cook. She will be missed by all who knew her. She was a member of Murmil Baptist Church.
Pall bearers will be Daniel Hostetter, Ashton Drummond, Andrew Drummond, Austin Drummond, Bailey McElvain, and Jackson Hostetter.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hurricane Grove Baptist Church in Sikes, LA officiated by Bro. Billy Smith and Bill Roberson Jr. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 11 am. Interment will be in the Hurricane Grove Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, El Dorado, AR.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Murmil Baptist Church building fund, 203 Beacon Hill Drive, El Dorado, AR or Lifetouch Hospice, 2301 Champagnolle Road El Dorado, AR.
The family wishes to thank Oakridge and Hospice for the excellent care that they gave.
