Margie Dennis

Margie Partin Dennis, of Vidalia, Louisiana, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 11, 2007. She will be deeply missed by her family and by all those whose lives she touched.

She was well loved, living her life in God's service, loving and serving others, and was always quick to smile, laugh and forgive. She was known for her generous heart, spiritual counsel, and beautiful smile. She loved the Lord with all her heart, soul, and strength. She will be forever remembered as a loving wife and mother who treasured her family.

Mrs. Dennis was born on January 31, 1922, a native of Clinton, Louisiana. She served as a Sunday School teacher to young people and young adults for 29 years in Port Barre, Opelousas, LA and Alabaster, AL, as well as to senior adults for 21 years at First Baptist Church in Vidalia. For 32 years she and her husband faithfully ministered to the residents of various nursing homes near the towns where they lived.

Preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Partin, Sr. and Clara Partin; sister, Vera Guglielmo; and brother, Ralph Partin, Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, William Dennis, of Vidalia, her daughter and son-in-law, Shanta Dennis Hollier and Dr. Johnny Hollier, of Mandeville; son, Patrick Dennis, of Baton Rouge; and son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Dianne Dennis of Baton Rouge; and seven grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces, Linda Denham and husband Foxy Denham of Baton Rouge, and Susan Renee Wilhite of Lake Charles, and nephews Jules Guglielmo, Jr., Michael Guglielmo and Gregory Guglielmo of Lake Charles.

The family thanks Mrs. Dennis's friends and church family of the First Baptist Church of Vidalia, Louisiana, for their faithful support and prayers. The family also wishes to thank the staff of Hospice of Vidalia and Four Rivers Home Health for their support, compassion and friendship during this difficult time.

Visitation will be held at Young's Funeral Home (200 Carter Street, 318-336-1300) in Vidalia, Louisiana from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12. Religious services will be held at First Baptist Church of Vidalia on Thursday, September 13 at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery in Natchez, Mississippi, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home, Vidalia, LA.
