MARIANITA McCARTY, 77, died Sept. 8, 1997, at a local hospital. She was a telephone operator for Mountain Bell.
A vigil will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 101 N. Main St., in Fountain. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Fountain. Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., is handling arrangements.
Mrs. McCarty was born June 15, 1920, in Amalia, N.M., to Louis and Edna Trujillo.
She was married Oct. 3, 1963, in Casper, Wyo., to Garlon McCarty, who lives in Fountain.
She also is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Hampton of Denver.
Mrs. McCarty was a member of St. Joseph's in Fountain for 27 years. She had lived in the area for many years.
