Dr. Collins Aunt Expires Saturday in Morgan City

Mrs. Marie Peters Collins, aunt of Dr. Clark Collins of Houma, died Saturday, August 15, in Lakewood Hospital in Morgan City, La. following a lengthy illness, Mrs. Collins, 67, a resident of Marshall, Tex., was visiting in the home of her daughter when she became ill.

She was a member of the Parkview Baptist Church and was a retired records clerk of Caddo parish. Her husband, the late Leonard Collins, was a former mayor of Winnsboro, La.

Mrs. Collins is survived by two sons, Leonard Jr. of Dallas, Tex, and James S. Collins of Marshall, Tex.; three daughters, Mrs. W.W. Haygood of Berwick, LA, Mrs. Kenneth Medlock of Midland, Tex. And Mrs. Edward H. Williams of Montgomery, Ala.; and one sister, Mrs. Lewis V. Peterson of Washington, D.C.

The body was taken overland to Osburn Funeral Home, Shreveport for burial Tuesday, August 18. Services will be held at 2:30 pm in the funeral home chapel, with burial following in Greenwood Cemetery. McCleary Funeral Home in Morgan City was in charge of arrangements.
