Marie Walley
Marie Walley passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2007. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. today with services following at 3 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Bay Springs. The graveside service will be at the Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Bay Springs following the funeral service.
Mrs. Walley was born in Jasper County on August 30, 1932. She grew up in the Sylvarena Community in Smith County, and graduated from Sylvarena High School. She married Mardie Walley and together they built a successful small business in Jackson. When they retired, they moved back to Marie's family home in Sylvarena, where they enjoyed entertaining, gardening and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her father, W.F. Walley; her mother, Almeda Ishee Walley; her sister, Wavadell Walley; and her husband, Mardie Walley.
Surviving family members include: her brother, James Walley of Franklin, N.C.; her daughter and son-in-law, Jeannie Williford and Charles of Madison; her grandson, Kent Williford of Madison; her son, Marty Walley of Jackson; and her granddaughters, Kayla Walley and Hanna Walley of Wesson.
Her warm personality and wit will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
