Mariestes Hanson Anders

Mariestes Hanson Anders, 59, an area resident since 1963 who had conducted dream interpretation workshops at the University of Virginia and Northern Virginia Community College, died of cardiac arrest Oct. 23 at Beebe Memorial Hospital in Lewes, Del. She had homes in Arlington and Bethany Beach, Del.

Mrs. Anders was a native of Arkansas. She was a graduate of George Mason University and earned a master's degree in education at the University of Virginia. She received a certificate from the Institute for Pastoral Psychotherapy in Washington.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clarendon.

Survivors include her husband, Dowell of Arlington and Bethany Beach; a daughter, Sarah Jane Anders of Washington; two sons, Stephen Hanson Anders of Berkeley, Calif., and Joseph Dowell Anders of Bellingham, Wash., and two sisters, Geraldine Williams of Russellville, Ark., and Eloise Thompson of Hot Springs, Ark.
