Mrs. Marilyn Giffin

Services for Mrs. Marilyn Miller Giffin, mother of Miss Phyllis Giffin and daughter of Mrs. Mildred B. Holmes of Jackson, were held Wednesday at First United Methodist Church at Louisville, Miss. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery with Green-Wilkes Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Griffin was the wife of Dr. Hortoh Griggin [sic Horton Giffin] of Louisville.

Mrs. Giffin, 46, the first woman in Mississippi to be appointed to the Appeal Board of the Selective Service System, died Monday at her home after a long illness.

She attended Stephens College in Columbia, Mo. and Huntington College in Montgomery, Ala. and was graduated from the University of Mississippi.

Mrs. Giffin also leaves two sons, Allan L. Giffin of Memphis and Keith M. Giffin of Louisville; another daughter, Miss Rene Giffin of Louisville; her father, M. C. Miller, Louisville; and thre[e] sisters, Mrs. Emma Lou Kuhn[e], Lubbock, Tex., Mrs. Sara Savage of San Diego and Mrs. Mildred Wilkinson of Florida.
