Marion Dodson Jr., 73, a retired sales representative, died after a brief illness Saturday, June 1, 2002, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Mr. Dodson was a native of Scott County and had been a resident of Jackson since 1952, formerly living in Harperville. Mr. Dodson was a beloved husband and father and a devoted grandfather who lived an exemplary life and established a legacy that will be difficult to follow. He was a wonderful Christian man who affected the lives of many. His family came first to him and he loved his mother and dad and was best friends with his wife. He was a protector and source of strength for his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Dodson worked his way through college at East Central Jr. College and graduated from Mississippi State University. He then became employed with Bill's Institutional Commissary for 34 years, retiring in 1986, and during this tenure he was a top salesman for many years and he was a member of the Million Dollar Sales Club.

He was a good listener and shared his wisdom quietly and gently with those who came to him for advice. He was an example of gentleness and humility and he believed in people. He also was an avid flower gardener and he loved to work in his yard. Marion Dodson will be greatly missed, but we look forward to the time we will meet again at Jesus' feet.
