Final Rites For Marion Weaver Held At Hazel

Funeral services for Marion Houston Weaver, 74, Star Route, Lake, were held Tuesday, November 16, at 2:30 p.m. from the Hazel Baptist Church with Rev. O. V. Swearingen, Rev. Raymond Smith, and Rev. Clifton Gibbs officiating. Interment followed in the Conehatta Methodist Church Cemetery with Ott & Lee Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Weaver, lifelong resident of Newton County, passed away in his home on Monday following an extended illness. He was a member of the Hazel Baptist Church and a retired farm owner.

The survivors are his wife, Mrs. Nettie Weaver; three daughters, Mrs. Willie Mae Bunch of Montrose, Mrs. Carolyn Nester and Mrs. Patricia Mays, both of Lake; two sons, James B. Weaver of Newton and Howard H. Weaver of Laurel; three sisters, Mrs. Josephine Horton, Miss Alice Weaver, and Miss Lula Weaver, all of Conehatta; two brothers, George B. Weaver of Lake, and Andrew J. Weaver of Hickory; and four grandchildren.

The pallbearers were Edgar Weaver, John Hensley, Richard Sorey, Jessie Gibbs, George Clark, and Herbert Lee Mabry.
