Marion Lorraine Stromer
Surrounded by her loving family, Marion Stromer passed away peacefully on June 6, 2016, at the age of 97.
Marion was born in Bemidji, Minnesota on January 12, 1919. She married Harold Strassburg, also from Bemidji, and in 1944 they moved to Vanport Washington. In 1946 they settled in Electron, Washington where they raised their 5 children. Marion later married Ed Stromer, who preceded her in death. She retired at the age of 70 from The Boeing Company where she worked as a painter and sealer in aircraft production. She was also an expert cake decorator and prior to Boeing, worked several years at Baker's Orting Bakery. Marion spent her last 12 years being cared for by her loving granddaughter, Lanette (Lani) Wilkins, in Lani's home in Orting, Washington.
Marion is survived by her 2 sons, Hal Strassburg (Faith Irish) and Don Strassburg (Sandy), and her 3 daughters Shirley Cope (Bill), Betty Story (Jack Manheimer), and Susan Rants. At the time of her passing, Marion had 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren with another on the way.
Marion's family will be holding a private celebration of her life later this summer.
