Marion Webster Ford
Shawnee resident Marion Webster Ford, 89, died Monday, April 9, in Shawnee.
He was born Feb. 21, 1918, to Richard Elijah and Hattie (Jackson) Ford in Jena, La.
He graduated from Jena High School and attended L.S.U.
He married Goldia D. Diefenderfer on June 22, 1952, in Oklahoma City.
Marion served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. from 1942 to 1946.
He worked at Civilian Conservation Corp., oil field, Welex Perforating Co., Tinker Air Force Base, and was a letter carrier for Shawnee Post Office. He retired in 1975.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge of Shawnee, and the Scottish Rite.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, Kenneth Ford; one sister, Madge Batson.
Survivors include two sons, John Ford of Sand Springs, Richard Ford of Shawnee; nieces, nephews, and other close family and friends including Margaret Morris and family, Curtis Richmond and family, and Jerry Richmond and family.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Tecumseh Cemetery.
Memorial service 11 a.m. Thursday at the Chapel of Walker Funeral Service with Larry Sparks officiating.
