Market H. Bass Rites at Mt. Zion

Funeral services for Market Hugh Bass, 76, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Mr. Bass, a retired farmer, died at 8:20 p.m. Thursday in Beacham Memorial Hospital in Magnolia following a short illness. He was born June 3, 1900, and was a resident of Rt. 1, Osyka, at the time of his death.

He was a veteran of World War I and was a Baptist.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Roxie Mary Smith Bass; three sons, Lloyd H., Robert L. and Delos L. Bass, all of Denham Springs, La.; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Remhart [sic Rehmert], LaPorte, Tex., Mrs. Winnie Tarver, Kentwood, La.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The Rev. D.K. Harris will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery with Hartman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
